With December comes many the epic festive brew. Whether you love dark beers, tart brews, or anything in between, I can guarantee that Pittsburgh’s beer scene has got you covered. This week, we’re heading south to Spoonwood Brewing to get festive!

The first brew in question is a honey strong ale. Bee Aggressive is a 7.6% winter warmer. Created with honey malt and wildflower honey, this beer is hopped with Citra and Amarillo goodness to create a smooth brew that is way too easy to drink at that ABV. Love anything with honey? Try this one out!

But wait, there’s more! Strategic Cocoa is an 8% imperial brown ale. Made with a blend of chocolate sea salts, milk sugar, and cacao, this is a beer perfect for all of your dark brew lovers! Sweet but not overtly so, this brew packs a nice punch with a salty finish that makes the brew utterly perfect! Enjoy this one while decorating your Christmas tree this year!

I need to try both of these very soon! I’ve been given an epic spoiler with this weeks’ release. Take note if you love traditional holiday flavors, friends! This brew will be called Whatta Goodboy and will hit the taps Tuesday this week at Spoonwood! Try it out and let me know how it is, yinz guys!

I’ll be making my way south ASAP this week to celebrate these amazing beers. Kick off all things December with these releases from Spoonwood this week!
