It’s that time of year, friends. I’m bidding adieu for now to one of my favorite new spots in the ‘Burgh to grab a beer this summer, The Allegheny Overlook.
The brainchild of Brew Gentlemen and Downtown Pittsburgh, this little spot was absolutely perfect for grabbing a brew and soaking in all things Pittsburgh. Open seven days a week with delicious beers on tap, you can always find something you like there.
New to all things BG? Three words for you: get General Braddock’s. The first IPA I ever loved, this is citrusy, hoppy and just right. Want to hold onto that summer sunshine a bit longer? Summertime Squeeze is an 8.5% double IPA chock full of Citra and Galaxy hops. Pillowy soft and full of fruit flavor, this would be a great brew to celebrate the end of the season.
I have to highlight another all time favorite of mine as well. When I first went to Brew Gentlemen, I got White Sky. A 5.4% wheat beer with chai flavor, it’s utterly amazing and goes down quickly. Get it, you won’t regret it.
With the Overlook being open tonight (September 11th) and tomorrow for the last day, you NEED to get there to soak it all in before it closes. I hope to get back myself! Thank you, Brew Gentlemen, for this new space for all of your tasty beers. I hope it’s back next summer for a second round!
