I’m sure many of you craft beer lovers out there are just like me, and have an old reliable brew that’s never let you down. We come back to it time and time again, regardless of occasion and what style we’re currently favoring. Anyone else know what I’m getting at here?

I’ve been absolutely floored by the lagers that Old Thunder Brewing has been releasing. Yes, they make killer IPAs. Yes, they’re amazing. However, there’s just something so familiar and pleasing about an absolutely flawless lager, and Old Thunder is absolutely crushing it with theirs!

My love affair with these tasty crispy brews began with Forever Bright. A summertime pilsner brewed with European barley, and German and Czech hops, it was bright, tasty, and oh-so-delicious. Forever Bright was literally the only thing I ordered at Old Thunder during my trips in July and August. In a half liter Czech mug, it was perfection in a glass.

However, Old Thunder’s most recent release, 340 Lager, blows Forever Bright out of the water. This weekend, I went out and grabbed a half liter for myself. Oh mama, it’s fantastic. This 4.8% Munich-style lager with German Barley, and a blend of European noble hops, is a beer you need in your life if you love lagers like I do. Clean and dangerously drinkable, this is a ridiculously refreshing brew. You can drink this beer all day, it’s perfect. I promise.

Available in half liter Czech mugs at the brewery or in a 4 pack to go, grab this beer as soon as you can. It was my favorite beer that I drank this weekend and I’ll be back asap to drink another, or several, very very soon. Thank you, Old Thunder, for creating the perfect lager!
