Warwick Farm Brewing is one of the Philadelphia area’s most popular breweries. They succeed in every style they brew, but fans mostly know them for their heavily-hopped IPAs and refreshing lagers. I’m pretty excited for this week’s releases because they’re bringing back their famous Oktoberfest Märzen alongside two of their most popular IPAs: the original DDH Citra Sensation and Ebb & Flow. These also just so happen to be two of their highest-rated beers on Untappd. I know it’s not supposed to matter very much, but I think we let it influence the beers we purchase.
Originally advertised as “liquid bread,” their Oktoberfest Märzen is a perfect example of the style. The low abv crispy mouthfeel makes way for toasty malts that’ll warm you right up. It only has a 3.97 on Untappd, but I don’t think the ratings do it justice. It was one of my favorite beers they ever made.
DDH Citra Sensation is the Double Dry-Hopped version of their original single-hopped beer: Citra Sensation. This IPA features nothing but Citra hops that contain tropical citrus flavors that are perfect for IPAs. (4.38 average)
Ebb & Flow has a 4.46 average on Untappd, so if that interests you, you don’t wanna miss it. Even if you don’t care for Untappd ratings, this beer is delicious. Ebb & Flow features a double dry-hop of Citra and Simcoe with extra oats in the mash for a fluffy mouthfeel to balance the hops.
These beers are available right now in their online store for pickup, but don’t sleep on these releases! All three previous releases sold out pretty quickly. Also, be sure to visit their Biergarten this weekend.
