Need a midweek pick-me-up? I’ve totally got you this week, friends. Today, East End Brewing released their latest creation, Pittonka Pils.

A 5.2% pilsner, this one has great floral and fruit aromas up front. Malty, crispy and bitter in the right way, this brew is a prime day-drinker. If you love lagers like I do, this one is a must-have for your Labor Day weekend celebrations!

Now, on to the meaning behind this brew. Brewed to celebrate Pittonkatonk, a free outdoor music experience in the ‘Burgh, this beer and the event are truly one-of-a-kind. This event has no corporate sponsors and has nothing for sale, it’s truly just a place to come and enjoy the music and people who’ve gathered. This event has grown from a backyard barbecue to thousands in attendance! The festival will be happening this Friday, September 3rd starting at 4pm and ending at 11pm.

Consisting of music, activism, food, community, and beer, this festival is in Schenley Park at the Vietnam Veterans Pavilion. East End will be taking care of the beverages for the event. There will be plenty of food truck goodness as well if you plan on attending the festival, including Steer and Wheel (burgers), Casa Brazil (Brazilian), and frozen pops and treats from Sticklers!

With the release party occurring tonight, grab it at the brewery or visit the festival Saturday to sample this new brew in person. Cheers to supporting a great local festival and the global music they have worked to bring in for the event!
