Not too long ago, I had the pleasure of checking out Recon Brewing’s second location at Meeder up in Cranberry Township just north of Pittsburgh proper. It was my first time visiting and having the tasty brews that Recon had to offer! With the location opening earlier this year and a third location in Bridgeville coming soon, this Butler-based brewery is knocking it out of the park!
This week, I’m already planning a return trip because of the releases I see. With temps still soaring and lighter brews calling my name, Recon is going to be top of my list for a midweek brew! There are two that are sounding particularly tasty.
The first brew is the Key Lime Pie Gose. Refreshing and delicious, this beer is brewed with lactose, sea salt and graham cracker and then fermented with a key lime purée. Tart with a pie crust finish, this gose is a 5% summertime classic. This is a sour one, so all of your tart lovers, put this one your list!
Next, they’ve got a lovely, easy cream ale on tap. Summer Creammin’ is a lawnmower beer that is light and totally crushable. 5%, smooth and clean, this beer is perfect for that post-bike ride treat or after a hike.
Along with these two brews, there’s lots of other tasty goodness on tap at both locations. Want to see the new space at Meeder? They’re open Tuesday-Sunday. Head out to the original location from Wednesday-Sunday during the week. Cheers to hanging on to summer while we still can!
