Today’s FueledMornings post will look a little different than the previous 10 editions. Today, I want to focus on a very important event happening tomorrow in Middletown, PA.
Recently, the craft beer industry lost a close friend. After a battle with Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer with Sarcomatoid Differentiation, Hop Hedz Gear founder Bart Kaminski passed away on July 22, 2021.
I never got a chance to meet Bart, however I was familiar with his company, Hop Hedz Gear, a craft beer design and production shop (Bart designed many of the can labels for breweries such as Rotunda Brewing, Stickman Brews and Pizza Boy). He and I also had many mutual friends.
When the news of his passing was announced, I witnessed every single of those mutual friends mourn his loss deeply. It was evident to me that this was not only a very talented man, but also a great person who many people are going to miss dearly. I’m truly sorry that he and I never met.
Tomorrow afternoon, from noon to 4pm, our friends at Tattered Flag Brewery will be hosting a beer festival in Bart’s honor known as Brews and Bands For Bart. This will be a block party-style event, hosted on the street in front of Tattered Flag’s Middletown, PA location, featuring some of the best breweries from the local area and beyond.
The proceeds of this event will go directly to Bart’s family. You can find all of the details, including which breweries will be in attendance, in this recent post from Breweries In PA.
We highly encourage all of our readers and followers to support this event. Click here to purchase tickets
Tattered Flag will also be releasing “Where’s The Haze, Bart?”, a beer brewed in Bart’s honor. This release will be available in 4-packs to go and on tap at the brewery starting today. Cans are also available for state-wide shipping via their Supply Drop.
On behalf of myself and Nick as well as the entire team at Fueled By Hops, LLC, we want to extend our deepest condolences to Bart’s family during this difficult time.
Please, rest easy, Bart.
