Eons ago, when I first began my craft beer journey, there was one beer that helped me to jump into the craft beer scene with both feet. Full Pint Beer’s White Lightning was that beer for me.
A Belgian-style white ale that weighs in at 6%, this beer is loaded with flavors of orange peel, coriander, and is super crisp. Excellent for any time of year but especially during the summer, White Lightning will forever have a special place in my heart because it’s oh-so-good.
Recently, I had the pleasure of stopping by the new Full Pint outpost in Warrendale, north of Pittsburgh proper. They’ve reinstated several of their previous classics including White Lightning and Chinookie. But there’s several new players in the game too!
The first releases have taken the hazy route. Clearly Cloudy is a juicy IPA packed with lots of fruity aromas and flavors. Low in bitterness and with a soft mouthfeel, this is a Galaxy and Citra hopped brew that is perfect for the IPA lover.
My favorite one? I loved the Clearly Cloudy Strawberry Milkshake IPA. A 6.7% beer that has fresh strawberry notes, this one was crazy good. It’s fruity, not too hoppy and an utterly amazing summer treat. Grab one soon!
The Full Pint outpost also boasts a great Saturday dinner option. Every Saturday, you can visit to grab a bite to eat and a can pour of any of the beers currently available. And great food from places like Sausages N’At or Black Sheep Barbecue will be available! This Beers and Bites event is occurring every Saturday, so make it a part of next weekend’s plans. Mark your calendars for the perfect dinner option!
