Ten years is a mighty long time. Fun fact, if you look up gifts for anniversaries, tradition states that an aluminum gift is the theme for the year. How fitting then, that Helltown Brewing is gifting us with several news beers to celebrate turning 10 years old!
First off, this is no small feat. Serious props to Helltown for being a Pittsburgh mainstay for the past decade! With their presence getting bigger and bigger in PA, I can only imagine what is next for them! For the month of August, they’re going big and planning 4 new beer releases.
And they’re starting with a doppelbock. The Temptress is the first in the anniversary beer release series and is officially available today! This 7.3% brew is a dark brown German style lager brewed with German, Munich, Vienna and speciality malts. Balanced with European hops, this is a rich lager with chocolate and bready aromas. Full bodied, this beer has lots of chocolate and toast malt flavor. Not overtly sweet or bitter, this is a balanced beer. I love this style of brew, so you can bet I’m going to get my hands on it!
One of the coolest parts about this month-long celebration is that Helltown is collaborating with local artists for the can art. For The Temptress, they worked with Brian Sikes Howe, a local musician and podcaster to create the artwork. Available in 16 oz cans at all of the Helltown locations, invite this temptress to your weekend festivities!
All of the cheers and congratulations to you, Helltown, on reaching this amazing milestone! Here’s to ten more and then some!
