Gypsy or nomad brewing: usually falls under the category of contract brewing; generally do not have their own equipment or premises.

One of the better known gypsy brewers is Stillwater Artisanal Ales, whose beers range from the perfection of a simple style to the eclectic. His current beer, Extra Loud, a Dubfire collaboration, is just that: a mashup of different styles to form a more perfect brew.

This ale takes qualities from both the modern IPA, as well as a Stillwater classic, Extra Dry Sake inspired saison. The light body of the Saison gets hit with layers of delicate hop flavor. Tropical fruit, white wine and the classic pine and citrus deliver a crisp beer with floral fruitiness.

The unique thing with Stillwater is that new beers like Extra Loud come and go before you even know what happened. Their constant experimenting in the brewery allows them to break new ground without the demands of a hard production schedule. They draw inspiration from wherever they brew next, giving us the gift of unique creations on a regular basis.
