If you didn’t catch the news in our Facebook group last night, or my personal Instagram story, my wife and I found out yesterday that we are having a baby GIRL! I’m pretty excited. We announced it to the world by my making our dogs, Lilah and Mr. Gus, eat pink whipped cream. Gus loved every second of it and even finished Lilah’s bowl!
To say we’re excited to meet Baby Girl Galiotto is an understatement. I NEVER thought I’d be a #GirlDad, but I’m fully living the life now. December 14 can’t come soon enough!
Now, on to beer…
Yesterday, our friends at Burial Beer Co in Asheville, NC announced a pretty sweet collab with our friends at Trillium Brewing Co. This DIPA is made with sorghum, which is a versatile grain that happens to be one of the top five cereal crops in the world. It’s then “triple-saturated” with Mosaic, Incognito and Cryo and double dry-hopped with Mosaic, Simcoe, Cashmere, and Enigma.
This one releases today at 12pm on pre-sale for pickup at their Asheville location (and others). I’m stoked because I’ll be in Asheville to grab this one next week!
Now, on to Fueled By Hops news…
As most of you know, Drink The Cookie Table tickets go on sale THIS FRIDAY at 10AM. This will be a two-session festival and will feature around 20 breweries from the US and local region. We really wanted to go out and bring the best “dessert beer” producers to the festival, and I think we did that quite well.
Our local breweries will be pairing up with local & national dessert brands to create some amazing collab beers. We have collabs coming with Sarris Candies, Duck Donuts, Oakmont Bakery & more!
You can grab tickets over at DrinkTheCookieTable.com tomorrow.
Things you should read
I found this article online about Boston Beer Company OVERESTIMATING it’s projection on the Truly hard seltzer brand this year.
For the record, I don’t see seltzers going anywhere; I feel they are going to have a permanent place in the craft beer world. However, I think we’re seeing the smaller, local breweries eating in to the larger market share (which is good, IMO). In fact, dare I say that it’s “refreshing” to see local breweries (who we as Fueled By Hops support tremendously) find new avenues for revenue with the seltzer market.
