These warm days have me thinking about beaches. I’m not a huge fan of the sand, but there’s something magical about a day spent by the water in the dog days of summer.
Now, a good brew needs to be a part of that day, obviously! But you need to make sure you’ve got the perfect beer for it. There’s a few things I take into account for this – it needs to be flavorful, yet lower in ABV to make it crushable during the summer day. Style wise, as much as I love stouts, that is NOT the beer you want at the beach. I want something light and easy!
Trace Brewing has created some perfect beers that I think would take the cake beachside. Available in cans and on draft right now, Sea of Citrus is a banging beach beer. An easy 4.5%er, it’s just the right amount of tart and the salt and lime notes take it over the top. It’s breezy and would go great with a side of sun and sand.
There’s another one that I think I would rock on the beach. Trace’s beers have made me unafraid to try new styles, and saisons are one of them. In the past, I’ve shied away, but they’ve got a killer one right now available to-go. Red Petals, a hibiscus saison, is one of my favorite brews I’ve had this summer so far. At 5.2%, this beer is floral, light and earthy in the best way. With a beautiful bright red color, it reminds me of an alcoholic hibiscus tea. One of the most unique brews I’ve had this year, grab a four pack ASAP and try it!
If you’re traveling to the beach, a lake, or just your backyard pool, Trace has exactly what you need to kick it with this summer. Cheers to the dog days of summer and the perfect beers to pair it with!
