There are many things that I value and hold dear in life.  Yes, beer is one of them. It’s just so tasty, steady and wonderful!  Also, dogs. They are simply the best. My pup has been with me through thick and thin and I know he is one of the best things that has ever happened to me. This week, Grist House Brewing has released the perfect summer brew to commemorate all things dog and beer!

Earlier this week, Grist released Hounds of Helles. My favorite part of this brew is that it’s dedicated to their brewery dogs! If you’ve been to the Millvale location in the past year, you’ve probably met one of these very good doggos. This German style brew is perfect for the hotter days ahead. It’s a balance of that pleasant malty sweetness with just a little bit of bitter taste to round out the brew. At 5%, it’s crushable, refreshing and perfect for summertime day drinking. A killer summer brew? Totally.

Grab a draft or four pack of this adorable brew ASAP. If you are a dog person or a lager lover, celebrate these adorable brewery doggos that you have totally seen when visiting Grist in the past!  Not a lager drinker? Don’t worry, there’s some excellent other options available as well.

Hounds of Helles wasn’t the only release canned this week. The other release for the week was Work Optional Lifestyle (5.6%), a fruited sour. Another style that I think it perfect for summer, this beer was originally a release for Fresh Fest 2019 and is a collaboration with Smittox Brewing!  Conditioned with raspberry, blackberry and lime, this is a brew that’s perfect for a way too hot summer day like today.

Lagers and Sours are two styles that I feel are just perfect for summertime in the ‘Burgh. Whether you like things crispy or tart, Grist House has some amazing brews right now that will be perfect for summer drinking! Check out these brews this week and report back in the comments below!
