Oh, it’s been a big week in craft beer, friends! Summer is finally upon us, we actually had decent, seasonally appropriate weather in the ‘Burgh this weekend, and I’ve got some great news regarding a local brewery that has yet to open its doors for pints.
Brew Gentlemen, home to the first IPA I ever truly loved (Yo, General Braddock!) , is teaming up with Downtown Pittsburgh Partnership for a summer-long beer garden at the Allegheny Overlook. That’s right, you can finally get a pint of their sweet brews again!
Where’s the Allegheny Overlook, you ask? It’s a well-shaded stretch of Fort Duquesne Boulevard just across the river from the saddest place in baseball, PNC Park (sorry, I’m bitter). From the end of June through September, you’ll be able to grab a beer and other beverages seven days a week in this new spot. They’ll also be offering food, a concert stage and summertime programming that will make the overlook the place to be!
However, there’s also big news on the OG taproom in Braddock. It’s still closed, however, Brew Gentlemen is working on reopening it in a new capacity in the fall. I can’t wait to see what they do there, I know it will be great.
Looking for some summer cash and an opportunity to work in craft beer? Brew Gentlemen is currently hiring for the new pop-up location as well. Retail or hospitality experience is preferred, but you don’t need bartending skills to apply. Check it out for a sweet summertime gig!
The party starts on Thursday, June 24th, so mark your calendars! I cannot wait to visit this awesome new space and grab a pint of what my favorite gentlemen have to offer!
