All of us have seen a few hundred dandelions in our lives. But only a few of us think to pick them and throw them in a beer. Enter The Seed from Atlantic City, who are using the weed along with Sauvignon Blanc to create their first foraged beer of the year, Season of Beginnings.
This beer has a lot going on for a 4.2% ABV beer. As mentioned, pounds of Dandelions were steeped in Sauvignon Blanc must. This mixture was blended with the single barrel aged grist of Pilsner, wheat, and spelt to create this one of a kind Grisette. These are then naturally carbonated in an uncommon clear bottle. The brewery notes that this is NOT a wine forward beer.
Floral, minerally, and dry, with mild fruit flavors, this a complex drink for a table strength beer. Limited to 3 bottles per customer, get it before it goes!
