The Pittsburgh Brewing Diversity Council has teamed up with Necromancer Brewing and Trace Brewing to present the first iteration of She Knows Beer, an ongoing collaborative beer series to recognize and celebrate the badass women in the local craft beer scene.

The first of this ongoing series is a hazy IPA showcasing Citra, Simcoe and Amarillo hops and is conditioned on orange puree, brewed perfectly with warm weather in mind.

The intent of She Knows Beer is to get women involved who work at breweries, and not just those who work in the brewhouse, but all women who contribute the success of the featured brewery to have input in the brewing process, from planning to execution, to packaging and taproom launch.

Trace Brewing, located in Bloomfield’s neighborhood of Pittsburgh, is hosting a release party for this awesome collaboration. On Tuesday, June 1st, just in time for the lift of the PA mask mandate, Trace welcomes the public to come hang out and try She Knows Beer on tap (also available for take-away in 4packs of 16oz cans) with food offerings from Chef Jamilka Borges, showcasing her forthcoming restaurant concept, Wild Child, paired with beats by DJ HUNY. The event begins at 6pm – it’s free and open to the public. If you want to get there earlier, Trace opens at 3pm and will have She Knows Beer cans and draft ready for launch.

A portion of the proceeds of this first round of She Knows Beer will benefit SistersPGH, a Black, Trans led organization that provides resources, advocacy and affordable housing for Queer and Trans BIPOC.
