Summer is here. I think we can count that officially, right? With weather being hot and the sun being out, outdoor beer season is fully upon us. There’s nothing better, in my opinion, than a cold brew outside after a great day spent in the sun!
Abjuration Brewing is one of the most creative breweries in the ‘Burgh. They are my favorite place to go to try something new and they continue to impress me with their crazy unique brews! This past weekend, Abjuration had their first pop up at the 10.7 marina. Located in Verona, PA, this spot is on the water and the perfect place to grab a pint and enjoy some great time outside. With live music, food trucks and great beer, are you missing anything else? I don’t think so.
This week’s beers were a highlight reel of all things that Abjuration does best. Their latest release, India Pale Ale (IPA 6.1) is kettle hopped with Citra and then whirlpooled with more Citra and Riwaka. Later, even more hops are added to the brew. This beer is a saturated hoppy treat with lots of tropical notes. Grab this on draft at Abjuration this week if you want to sample.
Recently, they’ve also been killing it with all things sour. Smoothie Style Sour (SSS 1.12) is a 7% brew that is summertime in a glass. Conditioned with watermelon purée , marshmallows, and Madagascar Vanilla beans, this is a must-try regardless of beer style preference. Grabbing this juice bomb outside? A must-have. As of right now (5/23), you can still grab this beer in cans at the brewery. Try it out this week!
Missed the first date this weekend? Don’t worry, there’s more to come. Abjuration has been kind enough to share the upcoming dates with me. You can grab a pint out in Verona on June 5th, July 3rd, August 7th, or September 25th. Each of the events run from 5-9pm. Set your calendars now and grab a tasty brew by the water with Abjuration!
