This weekend, I had the pleasure of visiting yet another new spot for a pint after a great day outside in the city. I stopped by the new Four Points Brewing location on Western Avenue in the North Side and it was amazing. As someone who has only been to the Charleroi location twice, I’ve depended on grabbing Four Points’ tasty brews at distributors or my grocery store, so I’m super excited to have the new location around 15 minutes from my house!
Open on Friday-Sunday, this is the perfect low-key weekend spot. The taproom space is so cool looking and has lots of room so you can grab a brew indoors or outdoors (we chose outside). And then there’s the beer!
There were SO many options available. I’m a sucker for a double IPA, so I ordered Nubilous, an 8.5% brew. One of Four Points’ OG brews, this is hopped with Citra, Mosaic, and Strata hops. The flavors are big on this one, you’ll taste grapefruit, nectarines, and dank berries. This may be my new favorite double IPA. It is so juicy and perfectly dank. It goes down way too easy for an 8.5% brew. Took a four pack home and I’m certain I’ll be done with it prior to Wednesday of next week. No shame in my game.
I was able to sample a few more tasty treats while I was at the brewery as well. DBL Cherry Berry Biotix (9.0%) is a summertime treat. Loaded with berry flavor and not overly boozy, this is a sneaky, sneaky beer. If you love a good fruited masterpiece, grab this one stat. It’s amazing.
Although it’s currently off the tap menu, they were kind enough to let me have a can of PI: Apricot and Peach, a fruited pastry sour. This 6.0% brew has huge amounts of fruit and milk sugar, vanilla and cinnamon notes. Tart, fruity and dessert-like, this was a perfect end to my summer day. This beer is only available to go as of today- snag a four pack while you can!
This is but a small glimpse as to the absurdly good taplist present at Four Points’ Western Avenue location right now. I wanted to try everything and will be back soon. Have you been to the new Four Points? What did you try? Let us know in the comments below.
