There is no debate that Oskar Blues’ Ten Fidy was one of the forerunners of the Imperial Stout’s popularity in the craft beer scene. For this reason, one should mark the occasion of the release of their latest stout release, BA21 Volume 5.
This imperial stout series focuses on combining barrel-aged stouts with different ingredients to create a spectrum of flavors. This edition sees the brewery teaming up with Denver’s Corvus Coffee. Using three different unique custom roasts, this beer has accentuated chocolate and vanilla notes to go along with the already roasty flavors from the malts.
Oskar Blues does not stop there. The coffee-infused stout ages in bourbon barrels and gets a dose of vanilla beans. At 13.3% ABV, it is dangerously balanced and smooth sipping.
While it does have limited availability, keep your eyes peeled just in case it slips into your beer market.
