Sometimes, necessity breeds creation. In the case of Hop Butcher for the World, the elements limited them to ingredients that could “make one beer and one beer only”: Skeleton Cruise.

Last brewed in late 2019, Skeleton Cruise is composed of the only ingredients left in the brewery after a winter storm prevented any new ingredient shipments from making it to them. In essence a kitchen sink beer, this beer is made up of what limited grains, hops, and yeast was still on hand.

Inspired by West Coast IPAs, this 6.5% ABV beer strays away from the hazy IPAs with a crystal clear appearance. Hopped with Mosaic, Centennial, and Simcoe, its flavor profile beckons back to what are now the forefathers of the craft brewing revolution. Piney grapefruit is the flavor profile, making it an easy beer to have a few of as the weather warms up.

Hop Butcher warns to enjoy this beer while it lasts. Who knows the next time the weather gods will bestow on us such a gift?
