As a North Hills transplant, I’ve made my way around Wexford, including going to my day job there (pre pandemic). One of the things that the North Hills area of the ‘Burgh is missing is a ton of local breweries. You’ve got a few that are really spread out, such as Strange Roots Gibsonia, Dented Keg in Cranberry, and Stick City in Mars. However, there’s a new brewery in the northern part of the ‘Burgh!

This week, Cinderlands Beer Company has opened their third location in Wexford! I’m super excited for this new location in the heart of the North Hills. With additional locations in Lawrenceville and the Strip, Cinderlands as the downtown areas of the ‘Burgh covered. This new location enables one of my favorite breweries to bring their brews to a whole new part of Pittsburgh!

Cinderlands Wexford is an epic blend of both locations. You can enjoy beers from both the Foederhouse and the Strip brewery, and a menu of some of the culinary favorites from the others Cinderlands locations! Looking at the menu, expect elevated bar snacks. I’d love to try the French onion dip or the Cashew Lemongrass dip! There’s also an epic cheese and meat selection so you can create the tastiest charcuterie options possible. Yum!

And the tap list is so diverse!  Keep things light with Tracks Again, a classic Pilsner, or Lil Cinder, one of the best light craft lagers I’ve had in Pittsburgh!  You can taste Skydog (6.4%), an IPA brewed with citra, simcoe and mosaic hops. With aromas of sticky mango syrup, lemon peel and berries, this IPA has a perfect velvety mouthfeel and slight sweetness. Prefer a DIPA? Double Sky Dog is an 8.5% IPA brewed with Citra, Simcoe, Amarillo and Crystal hops. One of my all-time favorite stouts, Arch and Drum, is also on tap! This 9.1% double coffee milk stout offers maple and vanilla taste and goes down way too easy. It’s sweet and amazing.

Cinderlands Wexford also offers a diverse can list so you can pick up some tasty to-go brews! The new Wexford location (at 171 Wexford-Bayne Road) is open from Wednesdays-Sundays each week, so swing by and taste all that Cinderlands has to offer!
