Something about a wax-dipped bottle always screams “class”. Fortunately, Thin Man Brewing (Buffalo, New York) delivers on the promise of a classy beer with their refreshed collaboration, Bourbon Barrel Aged Enrico Palazzo.
Brewed with both Blue Jacket (Washington, DC) and Mean Sardine (Ericeira, Portugal), Enrico Palazzo was already a fantastic Imperial Stout. Brewed with cold brew coffee from Buffalo and Maryland, the coffee-treated beer also gets a dose of vanilla.
The two form a rich, velvety base, which provides a nice counterpoint to the Peri-Peri Peppers that are added. The peppers are quite subdued, providing a quick bite but then releasing their distinct flavor over the course of drinking.
But Thin Man decided to take the beer to a new level. Aged in TommyRotter Bourbon Barrels for over a year, this extra level of complexity just stacks the layers of flavor. This 14.66% beer is definitely one you want to share/show off to your friends!
