New Trail Brewing (Williamsport, PA) and Levante Brewing (West Chester, PA) are joining forces once again for another hoppy IPA. This time, they are releasing a Triple IPA called Pointing South, and it clocks in at a whopping 10.2% ABV.
They called the first collab Pointing North and used a variety of “Northern” hops: Citra, Strata, Centennial, and Chinook. Naturally, they hopped the next iteration with “Southern” hops: Southern Sublime and Southern Passion.
These are hops from South Africa with characteristics that work well in juicy IPAs. Southern Sublime hops have an aroma of Kool-Aid, Juicy Fruit, citrus, mango, and plums. Southern Passion hops offer ripe tropical fruit flavors like passion fruit, guava, and coconut as well as citrus and red berries.
New Trail will release 4-packs of Pointing South exclusively for pickup at their Williamsport taproom Friday 2/12 AT 3 PM. They will also be serving draft for onsite consumption.
Levante, who is only open for curbside pickup and statewide shipping, will release 4-packs of Pointing South on their online store on Thursday, February 11th at 12 AM. That’s midnight between Wednesday and Thursday. The last Triple IPA they launched at midnight sold out quickly, so be ready at 11:59 PM Wednesday night. Levante’s online store allows for both curbside pickup and shipping throughout the state of Pennsylvania.
