We can say that the holidays are officially over, correct? While we’ve taken down the trees and put away the decorations til next year, there are some things that I’m not quite ready to let go of yet.

I’m talking about treats, of course! I have a huge sweet tooth, especially in the world of beer. I love anything that tastes like a treat I’ve enjoyed in baked goods form. Abjuration Brewing is the master of these types of beers. I may be out of holiday cookies, but they’ve got me covered.

I truly embrace and enjoy the taste of peppermint year around. It doesn’t signify the holidays to me. Abjuration’s release of the White Chocolate Peppermint Milkshake Ale 1.0 (5.2%) hits me right in my chocolate covered heart. Brewed with lactose and conditioned on vanilla beans, melted white chocolate and peppermint leaf tea, this is the cure to your “I have to go back to work and it’s January blues” (what, just me?).  Sweet but not too sweet, this one is a home run.

So, we’ve got chocolate covered. But there’s more! This week, they released the Snickerdoodle Milkshake Ale 1.0 (5.5%). Time for some cinnamon post-holiday goodness! Abjuration knocks their milkshake ales out of the park, and this is no exception. Created with wheat, oats, cookie malt, lactose, vanilla beans, cinnamon sticks and actual snickerdoodle cookies, this beer is not a subtle one. With cinnamon notes in scent and taste, expect to be taken back to that holiday cookie table with this beer!

Abjuration is one of my favorite places in the ‘Burgh for beer because they are the most creative guys that I know. They’re not afraid to go big, try new things and play with flavors that other breweries may not dare. Get your sweet fix and hang on to the holidays a little longer with these brews!
