We’ve almost done it, folks. We’re at the tail end of all things 2020. As we prepare for celebrations and fresh starts, I’ve already got one thing on my mental timeline for 2021 – Necromancer Brewing opening in the North Hills of Pittsburgh!
Necromancer is preparing to unleash its excellent brew upon the public. Founded by Ben Butler and with Lauren Hughes as the head brewer, they’ve got a killer team who’s been present in the Pittsburgh Craft Scene for years. I love the fact that Necromancer is working to bring back old, forgotten styles of beer and surge forward with the trends of today as well!
As of right now, they’re targeting a March 2021 grand opening. Located at 2257 Babcock Boulevard, the space they’re working on opening is going to be massive! With parking on premises as well, this is going to be one of the largest breweries by square footage in Pittsburgh.
Wondering what will be on tap? Expect four core beers in the brewery lineup- a New England IPA, a Grisette, a Belgian Wit, and Square Dancing – Necromancer’s collaboration with Dancing Gnome that was a smash hit! Square Dancing is a Kentucky Common Ale, which is something that you may not have tried before. This type of beer was primarily produced from the Civil War to Prohibition. Made with maize and speciality malts, this brew is an easy crusher and is caramelly, toasty and crisp. Yum.
Upon opening, expect can pickup, delivery to those close by, and light distribution in the Pittsburgh area. Eventually, expect a taproom to be added to the premises where you can enjoy a pint while there (god, I miss that – anyone else?). Set your calendars guys, visit this one in March! I can’t wait to see what comes next for Necromancer Brewing and will be there for sure when it opens to grab some tasty brews!
