Sometimes for a collaboration, breweries do not need to start from scratch on a recipe. Instead, they can do what Southern Grist (Nashville, Tennessee) and Brix City (Little Ferry, New Jersey) did by mashing up two beers together. The end result is their New England Double IPA, Boil the Ocean Walker.

Combining their beers “Boil the Ocean” and “Ocean Walker”, Boil the Ocean Walker has an interesting mix of ingredients. Hopped like a true NE DIPA with Citra, Cashmere, Mandarina Bavaria, and El Dorado hops, the remaining ingredients get progressively more eclectic.

Tangerines in the beer? Definitely delicious. Add some vanilla to that? That’s thinking a bit outside of the box. Orange slice gummy candy? Now that is more unique.

Both breweries seamlessly combine these ingredients together, producing a unique collaboration. With a rating of 4.14 on Untapped, it has beer drinkers’ approval behind it as well.
