I hope everyone’s holidays have been good so far! We’ve hit that awkward part of the year where we are finishing all things 2020 and gearing up for 2021. As we all prep for New Year’s Eve, there’s a new place to grab some brews and celebrate all things Pittsburgh Beer!

This week, Old Thunder Brewing has opened its doors for can pickup! Located over in Blawnox on Freeport road, they’re just getting things started with their release lineup. I’ve only heard great things so far, and here’s what was offered for this opening week – hint – if you like hop-forward brews, keep your eyes on these guys!

Beer one: Impossible Object (5.3%). An American Pale Ale brewed with midwest-grown barley and oats. Delicate, complex and hopped with Riwaka hops from New Zealand. This brew has an aroma that’s to die for and is an easy drinker!

Beer Two: Building Blox (5%). This brew is a hoppy one! A wheat ale made with both flaked and malted wheat, this beer is hopped with their favorite varieties from the Pacific Northwest. Expect this one to be absolutely crushable.

Both beers retail at under twenty bucks for a four pack, which is an amazing price! It looks like online orders will start up again on Wednesday of next week, which would be a great time to start ordering for your New Year’s Eve celebrations. Cheers to a new brewery in the ‘Burgh!
