Lost Tavern Brewing is dropping some absolute bombs for Christmas. Not only are they dropping a Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout, but they’ve got some surprises in store! Lost Tavern Winter Galley makes its return this year in the original variants as well as a brand new flavor. They aged two of the three varieties in specialty barrels, appealing to both craft beer lovers and bourbon enthusiasts.
Lost Tavern aged the OG Winter Galley in a Widow Jane bourbon barrel. Widow Jane is a craft distillery in Brooklyn, so this is an insanely special release. In fact, it’s the first time I’ve heard a brewery in the area using this brand. This 10% Imperial Stout boasts notes of chocolate, bourbon, and robust roasted barley with big vanilla and marshmallow.
Maple Bourbon Vanilla OG was aged in Buffalo Trace barrels.
Dark Cherry, Orange Peel Winter Galley was aged in a Blantons barrel. Lost Tavern elevated this variant by using a more expensive Bourbon barrel, so it will likely be the first to sell out.
All varieties of Winter Galley will be available at both their locations in Bethlehem and Hellertown. They are open 12-5 PM on Thursday, Christmas Eve, for this release. I highly recommend getting there before 12 if you want the Blantons one.
