Pop culture references and beer paired together never seem to disappoint those who lived through the 1990s. “Nelson Laughs” by Dewey Beer Company, fits the bill perfectly.

When fans of “The Simpsons” think of the beer’s namesake, they think big and dry but with a huge personality. Dewey takes these traits and translates them into an 8.5% ABV beer.

Brewed with Nelson hops (naturally), this IPA mixes in Galaxy and Vic Secret hops to give it that ideal profile. Dry with lots of lemon peel, grapefruit skin, pineapple, and tropical fruit, it gives you the fruit flavor without the sweetness.

You will have to pick up Nelson Laughs at the brewery to get to try it. But do yourself a favor: take the trip to the Mid-Atlantic beaches, grab some Grotto’s pizza, and make a pit stop at the brewery. The combination of local beer, pizza, and beaches really can not be beaten.
