Industrial Arts Brewing’s winter release supports two causes I care about: community charity and Baltic Porters.
The release of their beer, Winter Landscape, uses 100% of the profits from its sales to support the Fresh Air Fund. This organization provides summer experiences for underprivileged youth in New York City.
Baltic Porter is not a well-known style. But think of the malty, almost chewy backbone of a porter, but combined with the clean, smoothness of a lager. Brewed to strengths higher than a typical porter, a lot of love goes into this style.
Winter Landscape is no different. A bittersweet beer with dark dried fruit notes, it pours a deep brown with ruby highlights. With an emphasis on the malts and not hops, expect a less fruity aroma to this one.
