Aurochs Brewing is Keeping Spirits Bright Right Now!

As we all plan to shop at our local small businesses during this holiday season, I continue to be impressed by the amazing things that local breweries are turning out. Whether they be for us to enjoy ourselves, or purchase for others this holiday season, there are a lot of exciting options!

Aurochs Brewing is one of the most unique breweries we have in Pittsburgh. A completely gluten-free facility, no grains that contain gluten enter the brewery, and everything on tap is 100% safe for those with a gluten allergy or sensitivity. They’re mad scientists who have truly found a way to brew beer without barley, wheat or rye. Instead, they use millet and quinoa! The resulting beer is excellent! As someone who has drank at this brewery since moving to the Emsworth neighborhood, they continue to wow me time and time again.

This year, they’ve absolutely killed it with their winter release. The Winter Spice Ale. A bigger brew at 8%, no small feat with the grains being used, this beer is very smooth and goes down easy despite the ABV. A slight boozy burn is hidden under just the right amount of spices. With cinnamon, ginger, and a sweet molasses taste, you’ll love this beer. Ruddy in color with a dry finish, you’ll need a whole crowler to yourself – I promise.

Currently, this beer is available in crowlers at the brewery. They’ve got an easy online system for ordering to pick up and grab your beers in the safest way possible.

Want to sample other wares? The award-winning Hazy IPA is also available in crowlers and a limited amount of four-packs. The gold medal winner at the Great American Beer Fest for gluten-free beer, it’s an absolute juice bomb. Try it! Their seltzer, a fan favorite, is also available in crowlers. This is one of the best I’ve had recently and tastes like real fruit!

One of my favorite things about Aurochs is that they’re currently shipping their canned beer throughout Pennsylvania. This is a great option for anyone who loves craft beer or needs gluten-free refreshments this holiday season!
