With COVID-19 on the rise once more, many of us are taking time to reevaluate how we can best support our local breweries. As we embark on a post-holiday week very soon, I wanted to share several breweries that are offering delivery or shipping options in Pittsburgh. Staying at home? Me too. Drinking local? Definitely.
First up, one of my personal favorites, Cinderlands Beer. The warehouse location recently changed to pickup only, and you should get your hands on some of their to-go grub NOW if you are now. I will always love Squish, their flagship pale ale brewed with citra, simcoe, amarillo and crystal hops. At 5.5%, it’s crushable and oh-so-tasty. Love hops? Their Test Piece series is an amazing way to taste different single hop profiles – two different brews are available now: Test Piece: Mosaic or Idaho 7. The coolest part about Cinderlands Beer? They offer delivery options each week based on zipcode! You can also get beer shipped to you if you’re not in Pittsburgh!
I’ve mentioned one of the Pittsburgh craft grandaddies before, and I’ll say it again – East End Brewing has lots of options for craft beer delivered right to your door. East End is offering delivery on Saturdays from 12-5pm. Delivery orders are taken until 11:59pm on Friday night. They ask that you be home during that time, and have your ID and credit card present. East end delivers within 20 minutes of the brewery, so check their website to see if you fall in radius. They’re offering some killer case deals right now, so you can easily secure many of the “You are Here” beers or a case of their current seasonal offerings. I’m extremely interested in the newest iteration of PA Loophole – a 7.9% Mexican Chocolate Stout that sounds divine as the temperatures lower.
Many other breweries are also offering home delivery. For example, want your Grist House fix? Delivery is available within five miles of the Millvale location with a $24 minimum order. Unfortunately, the Collier location does not offer delivery. I would grab some Dark Nectar – a 6.4% porter conditioned with chocolate and wildflower honey. I LOVE this beer. Not into dark beers? Check out Grist’s Social Media as they always have something amazing to look forward to!
Live close to Lawrenceville? Eleventh Hour Brewing has your back! Same day delivery is available Thursday-Sunday if you live within 5 miles of the brewery. Orders need to be placed prior to 3pm to ensure same-day delivery. Live outside of that radius? Don’t worry – they’ve still got you! Suburban delivery is available based on the day – check their website to see when they go to the North, East, South and West of the ‘Burgh to bring those brews straight to your door!
Have you used any of these breweries’ delivery options? How were they for you? Is there a brewery offering delivery that I’ve forgotten? Let me know in the comments! Stay safe and stay well, my friends!
