Can releases are my favorite. When some breweries are open and others not, this is an excellent way to support local during these times and ensure you’re drinking quality beer!
Grist House Brewing, a legend in the Pittsburgh beer realm, has not opened to the public for pints on premises during the pandemic. However, they are releasing amazing beers every week and turning out hit after hit for us all to enjoy from the comfort of our own homes.
This week, they’ve hit epic levels of excellent beer releases. First off, Broken Souls: Hazelnut was released tonight and sold out in a flash! I love how everyone is really embracing #stoutseason right now. The last remaining barrel of Grist’s collab with Barreled Souls, this big boy has been aged in Bourbon Barrels for 23 months. Conditioned on hazelnuts, vanilla, chocolate and lactose, this beer will be phenomenal! Congrats on such a quick sellout Grist!
For those of us, including myself, who missed out on this quick release, fear not! Although we may not be able to quench our BA imperial stout needs tonight, there is SO MUCH more to pick from. You seriously cannot go wrong.
One of my favorite IPAs out right now is Battle Snake. This is a hazy juice bomb that satisfies my IPA needs like none other right now! With a silky mouthfeel anda huge fruit presence, charge into combat with this brew at your side! More into the sour side of things? Purple Shaman is still available. I love this series. It’s a lemonade bomb with blueberry and black currant goodness aplenty. This is the perfect beer to kiss this summer weather goodbye with!
Also, can we have a moment for the Seltza Drip: Mimosa? I’ve not been shy about my deep, deep love of alcoholic seltzers and this one is beyond top notch. The perfect balance of juice and seltzer, make this one a part of your #sundayfunday pronto.
As you can see, my friends, get to Grist House. With two locations in Collier and Millvale, there are so many excellent brews available for you to enjoy this weekend!
