How up to date are you on your Roman and Greek mythology? Mortalis Brewing (Avon, NY) will help you refresh. This week, the brewery is paying homage to the ancient gods and creatures with the release of their appropriately named beers, Hydra, Venus, and Milk of the Gods.
The many heads of the Hydra have inspired the brewers to create and mash-up intriguing flavor combinations. This iteration of their sour includes blueberry, key lime, and sweet cherry. Be on the lookout for their other flavor combinations as well.
The campfire flavors of s’mores are the inspiration for their milk stout, Venus. This dark, roasty beer is aged on graham crackers, marshmallows, and cacao nibs to create a sweet finish.
Milk of the Gods Black Currant + Blackberry Pie is the latest version from their milkshake IPA series. The series starts with a base beer made with lactose (milk sugar), Madagascar vanilla beans, and hops, and then each version contains its own unique flavors. This particular version contains flavors of creamy vanilla, blackberry, black current, and graham cracker.
