I’m so glad that the world seems to be in a stage of reopening. We have seen trial and hardship this year, that’s for sure. However, the silver lining now is that things are moving to a new one. One where we can go have a beer in public at a brewery again, huzzah!
It’s a week for reopening here in the ‘Burgh! War Streets Brewing has reopened their doors again for socially distanced pints! Welcome back, friends!
Throughout the summer, War Streets opened and then closed their doors again, as many businesses had. But now, they’re back! As one of the neatest places on the North Side, Bier’s Pub (where War Streets is located) is an awesome space! I love all of the Pittsburgh-centric artwork, it makes me smile every time I’ve been there.
This is a great place to grab some excellent local food and brews. Bier’s Pub has sandwiches for days. The PGH Dog, a hotdog with sauerkraut, onions, and truffle mustard sounds amazing. More into burgers? The Kentucky Bourbon Burger (bacon, onions, and cheese) and the Goat Cheese and Apple Burger sound sooooo good.
We can’t forget the beer of course! This week, Filson St. Pilsen was released. A german-style pilsner, expect some light, refreshing crispiboi goodness. Sounds good for watching the Stillers play on a Sunday afternoon! I’m also a sucker for a red ale, and the Resaca Red Ale sounds divine. With some caramelly notes, this red is clean, drinkable and excellent.
For this weekend, the brewery is open from 4-10 and even has a happy hour special going on from 4-6 each day! Current hours for Bier’s Pub and War Streets is from 4-10 Thursdays-Sundays. They’ve got an excellent space available with an outdoor bier garden and indoor seating as well. Cheers to a lovely return, War Streets Brewery!
