Every brewery in the ‘Burgh has handled the tough decision of when to open and how to best serve patrons during these tricky times. With social distancing guidelines, mask protocol, and balancing can releases, breweries have been working overtime to get us killer brews!
Hitchhiker Brewing is a personal favorite of mine. With two locations in Sharpsburg and Mount Lebanon, this brewery creates some of my favorite beers and has a killer dark beer game (Woke and We All Scream = all time faves). This week, they’re reopening for a pint on premises!
Starting Thursday, both locations are opening their doors once again for thirsty customers. Hours will be from 4-9pm on Thursday and Friday. 12-9pm on Saturday and 12-6pm on Sunday. As a reminder, bring your masks, follow the social distancing guidelines – the taproom will be at 50% capacity.
And they’re releasing several editions of their most beloved beers! First off, Whole Punch Hawaiian Punch IPA. With a balance of hops, milk sugar, and citrus flavor, this is one of the most unique Whole Punch entries!
Hitchhiker makes some of the best sours in Pittsburgh beer, and Subsurface: Strawberry Raspberry hits the taps this week for the reopening. This smoothie sour clocks in at 7% and is sure to satisfy your tart beer needs!
Hitchhiker has some amazing food trucks lined up for the Sharpsburg location as well! With the famous Cousins Maine Lobster Truck kicking off the weekend on Thursday, you can grab some amazing food with your beer! Mr. Bulgogi and other trucks are coming in throughout the weekend, check out Hitchhiker’s site for more info! Cheers to a great reopening weekend!
