Hop Culture has teamed up with Bumble to bring year 3 of Beers With(out) Beards, a festival designed to empower and celebrate women in beer. But, much like anything and everything planned for the year 2020, it’s going to be presented a little differently: they’re going digital.
Historically, Beers With(out) Beards is a week-long festival with panels and beer tastings that took place in NYC. This year, the fest was supposed to be in June 2020 at The Bronx Brewery. However, Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the festival is now taking place live, via YouTube, from 8/7/20 to 8/10/20.
The festival came to fruition when a New York University grad-student, Grace Weitz, joined the Hop Culture team and after experiencing first-hand the inequality women face in the beer industry, decided to create a festival that was unique and inclusive to women in beer (and, girl, we are SO glad that she did!)
Festival attendees have the opportunity to choose their experience in an “a la carte” fashion. VIP and GA packages along with basic admission are available, as well as options to upgrade to different events such as a sensory workshop with Two Roads Brewing or a cooking class hosted by New Belgium Brewing and Queer Food Foundation, an organization that celebrates queer food workers and chefs.
Attendees should keep in mind that in order to have the VIP or GA experience beers delivered to your home, you must be 21+ and live in these participating states: NE, NH, ND, NV, OH, OR, PA, VA, & Washington D.C.
