Bootstrap Brewing of Longmont, CO, has gotten creative with their most recent mix-pack release (mix-packs, what a wonderful thing). While this certainly isn’t FueledBySeltzer, these low-calorie, low-carb, low-hangover alternatives to the traditional brew become more popular every day, especially in the hot summer months. Sparkalicious Hard Seltzer was released by the brewery back in February of this year, but this week, the Party Pack was announced, which includes both beers and the hard seltzer.
The Party Pack, aptly named in my opinion, features all gluten-reduced beers and a hard seltzer for light but flavorful summertime enjoyment. To double down on this “party” concept, the brewery has included two of six different products, rather than your average 3 cans of 4 types or 4 can of 3 types that your average brewery employs. Variety is a party in itself!
Included in the pack is an impressive variety including the following: Lush Puppy Juicy IPA, a 6.3% ABV, 40 IBU summer crusher made with Galaxy, Mosaic and Citra Hops; Chillax Pineapple Gold (a Colorado liquor store staple) 4.5% Golden Ale, an easy-drinking beer with a tang; Insane Rush IPA, 7.6% ABV and 51 IBU, brewed with Cascade and Simcoe, to create a citrus-pine hop experience; Wreak Havoc Imperial Red (another CO staple), 8.5% ABV and 88 IBU, a super-hoppy red ale that has won the brewery multiple awards; Stick’s Pale Ale, 5.5% ABV and 36 IBU, a citrus-forward pale ale dry-hopped with Mosaic; and finally, the Sparkalicious Hard Seltzer, 4.5% ABV, with all three flavors included in the mix-pack.
Going one step further into the listicle dungeon, the three varieties of seltzer are as follows (all of the same ABV): Greyhound, made with grapefruit; Sunrise, made with cherry and orange; and Cosmo, made with cranberry and orange. It’s funny, it seems to me that the last thing I would want to do with this “party pack” is bring it to a party- it seems like it would be all-too-easy to get greedy with such a carefully-crafted variety of flavors.
