I’ve dined out very little since the pandemic hit full force again here in Pittsburgh. Takeout has been my jam recently, but one of the places I have been proud to visit social-distancing style is Lincoln Avenue Brewing.

Located in Bellevue, around 15 minutes out of the city, Lincoln Avenue Brewing was built in a borough of Pittsburgh that actually used to be dry! One of my favorite things about Lincoln Avenue is that this place is a true gem in the community. Volunteers helped build and construct the brewery and the folks of Bellevue have embraced the space.

Owners Grant and Lisa Saylor are also two of the kindest people you will ever meet. They know their patrons and linger to talk to everyone, including my husband and I when we visit. These two have rolled with the punches that quarantine has brought beautifully – even offering up custom mocktails when it was uncertain if beer sales could occur!

We’ve made it a Saturday night treat in our house to head down to this brewery. They are offering first come, first serve seating outside- and it’s shaded! I’ve continued to be impressed with the beers coming out as well. I grabbed a A Little Strawberry Gose a Long Way fruited sour. At 4.4%, this was a light and crushable beer with just the right amount of tart for a hot evening. I treasured every sip! I also stole a few sips of my husband’s Lincoln Bakery Donut Stout (8%) , a collaboration with the bakery next door. The donut taste is not overwhelming and it’s a sweet and roasty brew. Served with a little bite of a donut, it’s been of my favorite stouts I’ve had all summer!

The food is great as well. I’m partial to the daily specials – there’s always something unique they offer! My barbeque chicken flatbread was awesome. The menu also has paninis, salads, and lots of appetizers to enjoy. Currently open from 4-8pm Tuesdays-Fridays, 12-8 Saturdays, and 12-5 Sundays, check out their website to see the specials and menus before you go! Want to get it to go? You can also order beer and food to go online!
