It’s been a week for the whalez, and this week we noticed some big beers being released by Mortalis Brewing Company (Rochester, NY area), Angry Chair (Tampa, FL) and Burial Beer Co. (Asheville, NC).

Also, don’t forget to pick up one of our new Rainbow OG glasses. We love drinking the big beers out of this 16oz Willi Becher glass!

Black Is Beautiful
Burial Beer Co. (Asheville, NC)

Burial Beer Co. brewed this beer as their contribution to the Black Is Beautiful campaign started by Weathered Souls Brewing.

We’re big fans of anything Burial puts out, but espeically love their stouts, so this imperial stout is sure to hit the spot. Featuring a blend of three different Imperial Stout bases, this 14% concoction, “shows the resounding bevy of dried fig and cherry, dark chocolate mocha, roasted pecan and gooey salted caramel that make up the core of our usual offerings.”

Burial’s Black Is Beautiful offering will be releases Wednesday, July 8th for online pre-order and pickup at their Asheville taproom. 100% of the profits from the beer will be donated to the ACLU, ACLU North Carolina and People, Power Beer.

Ophion
Mortalis Brewing Co. (Avon, NY)

What’s cool about Ophion is that it’s an adjunct-free stout, meaning there’s literally zero adjuncts in this one!

Instead, Mortalis decide to age this one in Aged in both Willet Rye and Old Fitzgerald Bourbon barrels for 13 months.

Rocky Road
Angry Chair Brewing Co. (Tampa, FL)

So, Mortalis’ Ophion is adjunct-free, however, the same cannot be said about Angry Chair’s recent release, Rocky Road.

The 10% sweet stout is, “treated with absurd amounts of freshly hand toasted walnuts, Dominican Cacao nibs, and ooey-gooey marshmallows,” as Angry Chair Brewing states.
