Allegheny City Has The Most Chill Outdoor Space to Drink Right Now

Currently Drinking:

Sunshine, a cold beer, and a chill outdoor space in Pittsburgh. Sounds like an ideal weekend afternoon in my book! Lucky for you guys, I’ve found the perfect spot!

Allegheny City Brewing, a gem in the north side, has taken over some extra space across the street. This makes for an ideal semi-post-quarantine beer! They’ve leased space from their across the street neighbors to serve us craft beer nerds since things are operating at limited capacity.

When you arrive at the brewery, simply walk up to the bar (masks on please) and order your beer from the bartender. They’re not doing tabs for simplicity’s sake. A lid is placed on your beer and you simply walk across the street to the area with the Allegheny City tents. Find one of the empty tables with your group (four or less) and relax!

The outside space is open only on weekends for now (Fri 4-9, Sat 12-9 and Sun 1-8), but Allegheny City mentioned they are going to evaluate the potential of more open days as time continues. Want to visit on Wednesday or Thursday? The taproom is open with spaced seating as well from 4-9.

My husband and I visited on a warm Sunday afternoon after a bike ride. We LOVED the Starlake Raspberry Wheat: the nostalgic name (I still call that concert venue Starlake!) and it quenched our thirsts and then some! The flavors were balanced perfectly and it had just enough tartness for me. Check out Allegheny City this weekend and enjoy one of my new favorite spots in Pittsburgh!
