Well, we’ve made it. The weekend that many call the start of summer. Huzzah!

However, we’re stuck inside and probably not having the massive family outings of years past (responsible social distancing, folks!). We’ve still got this three day weekend and some awesome releases coming out from local breweries that will at least taste like the summer we’re all jonesing for. Here are three releases that I am going to check out over this long weekend.

  1. Hitchhiker Brewing – Whole Punch Coconut Cream Pie: A new entry in the whole punch series brewed with coconut and conditioned on vanilla beans. This series is a favorite of mine because it meshes two things I love – fruity beers and unique IPAs.
  1. Aurochs Brewing – Strawberry Blonde Ale: At 4.2% this is a light and flavor filled addition of the fan-favorite Blonde Ale. Sweet but not overtly so, this is a great barbeque beer during these Summer months!
  1. Abjuration Brewing – Strawberry Milkshake Ale: If you know Abjuration, you know these guys are total mad scientists when it comes to their beers. This new addition is available starting this weekend and is conditioned with a crazy amount of vanilla beans and strawberry. Tom and Dave describe this beer as not subtle, and  I can’t wait to taste this marvelous concoction!

What are you drinking to celebrate summer? Cheers to a long weekend, fellow beer nerds!
