There’s nothing ‘trash’ about Charleroi, PA-based Four Point Brewing’s beers. However, last night they released a West Coast IPA they call ‘Trashed IPA’.

Trashed IPA was developed by Bob Moore, a local home-brewer who recently won the American IPA category of the TRASH XXIX competition.

For those unaware, TRASH stands for the The Rivers Alliance of Serious Homebrewers, a group on home-brewing enthusiasts in the Pittsburgh region. Each year, they hold their annual awards event.

At last years award event, Mr. Moore’s West Coast IPA won the American IPA category and Four Points Brewing agreed to brew the recipe along with Bob.

Four Points describes this beers as follows:

“This beer has the bones of a West Coast IPA but with modern dry hopping rates. Hopped exclusively with Mosaic and Azacca with notes of notes of Mango, Lemon, Citrus, Tropical and Stone Fruit. Bob’s recipe also uses the Trois yeast strain which produces delicate, tart, tropical mango and pineapple fruit characteristics with a clean finish.”

Trashed IPA can be purchased online at Four Points Brewing (for pickup), at Fourth Street BBQ next door to the brewery, or at various Giant Eagle and bottleshop locations around the city.
